If you are in Quito in Ecuador, then why not take a two-hour bus ride and visit the attractions that the small town of Otavalo has to offer. I really enjoyed visiting this place as it offered me picturesque and eye-catching visuals of waterfalls, lakes, natural landscapes, etc.

- Otavalo Market
This is a market that you should never miss on your trip to this town. There are several markets her in various sizes. If you are good bargainer, then you can take back a lot of Ecuadorian goodies and memorabilia with you.
- Cuicocha Lake
This is a sparkling and attractive blue lake that was formed when the crater of the volcano malformed during its outbreak. There are islands located in the middle of the lake that can be reached with boat rides.
- El Lechero
This is a sacred tree that is part of the Ecuadorian mythology. It is a very old tree and it is seen in a picturesque landscape. The soul of the cursed mistress is believed to be housed in the tree. She was in love with a guy who belonged to the enemy family. He is said to be the San Pablo Lake near this location.
- Condor Park
This is an attractive park that is located about 4 kilometers from Otavalo. There are a lot of raptors and other eye-catching birds that are found to frequent the park. You can also capture the spectacular view of the valleys and the volcanoes from this park.
- Pena La Jampa
If you are looking for some fun, entertainment, music, and dance during the nights, then this is the club where the locals frequent. Here, you get to listen to the local and traditional music along with rock and salsa. It is a happening place for night birds as the club peaks up only after 11 pm.
