Maple Ridge has enticed me for a long time, so this summer I decided to give it a visit. This city is located at the doorstep of nature. Maple Ridge has more attractions to offer than meets the eye. There is so much to do and see. Take a quick look at the attractions you can check out when you on a trip to this city.
- Memorial Peace Park
At the downtown core of the city, you will find Memorial Peace Park. Several events are hosted throughout the year. I got the chance to witness the event of Bard on the Bandstand. There is also the Christmas in the Park, Remembrance Day, and Adstock. I love the Haney Farmers Market in the park. You will find fresh vegetable and fruits along with crafts, baked foods, and goods in here. It runs on every Saturday from the month of May through November.
- Whonnock Lake Park
Want to take a dip in the water? Visit the Whonnock Lake. Spend the whole day there with your family. Carry your towels and beach blankets. To have some fun, take your volleyball and Frisbees. In case you haven’t packed your lunch, do not worry, there is a concession stand. I found large tadpoles in the Whonnock Lake. You will be able to see them in the shallow waters.
- Golden Ears Provincial Park
This park is a prized possession of the city as it offers several recreational activities. There are extensive trails that allow you to go for horse-riding and hiking. The Alouette Lake inside the park has three big campgrounds. These are just perfect for windsurfing and swimming. You can also go fishing, canoeing, and water-skiing. Many popular films have been shot in this location.
